Available Lite - The DJ IN ME

When Amber and I first met, she came to the realization that I'm the type of person with a lot of big boy toys. But instead of Playstations and iPods, I have A DJ Rig consisting of two variable speed turntables and a mixer. In addition to the DJ equipment, I have and entire lighting rig, three guitars, two power amps and three sets of speakers . . . oh and three laptops and two desktop computers. Amber doesn't really mind all the equipment because sometimes I get paid very nicely to DJ weddings and corporate events. If you know of any "events" coming up let me know. I think that the only person that I know that will truly appreciate these pictures is one of my best friends Marney Mason. Marney and I lived together in college and he spent countless hours watching me hone my DJ skills. Anyway here are some pictures that I took of my DJ rig after a tasty session on the turntables.

Available Lite - New Descovery

As I use my phone I find new and interesting things about it. I'm sure that if I sat down and read the instruction I would have found this feature a long time ago, but I'm enjoying going slow with the phone. The technology of cell phones is pretty standard; once you find your menu buttons the rest just takes some time to get used to.
I found out that the camera has a self-portrate option. This option allows you to close the phone and use the external screen to take a picture. I was showing this feature to Amber and I took this picture.
This is the first picture that features the photographer. I'm the guy on the right!

Available Lite - The Durkin Family

Last night Amber and I went over to our friends the Durkin’s house. The Durkin are: Scott and Kimber with Daughter Miranda and Son Cash. This is a picture of Scott doing his best Robert Dinero Impersonation.

This is another picture of Miranda and Scott.

Comedy and Tragedy!

This is a picture of their son Cash. I wasn’t able to get a very good picture of him because he wasn't in good available light. But, at least he is represented. Both Cash and Miranda were getting pretty tired while we were there. Going to sleep in the Durkin house is a very involved experience. But as Scott keeps saying . . . "Just wait until you have kids . . . "

Here Miranda is showing me a picture that Scott helped her draw.

This is the entire Durkin family represented in stick figure motif.

Available Lite - The Wife!

This is a picture of my wife. This was taken on the way downtown to see the Available Cup Holders.

Available Lite - The Cradle Will Rock

This kid power sleeps. I think that with all this sleep he's going to be completely awake the entire time he's 2!

My father just recently re-finished this cradle. It has been around ever since I can remember. My mom said that the last time it was slept in was 32 years ago.

Here is a little better picture where you can actually see Kael sleeping. He doesn't know it but he has his favorite outfit on . . . the one we got him.

Available Lite - Good Times, Good Times, Good Times

Kids . . .nuff said!

Available Lite - Nicole . . .The Mommy!

Here is a picture of Nicole. She is smiling for three reasons. One: Someone is holding her baby and she is experiencing some down time. Two: Someone else is entertaining Damek and this is only enhancing her down time. Three: later we will be having a large dinner that she did not have to prepare. You can't see it but my wife is smiling for the same reason . . . . Actually we all are, except my mom!

Available Lite - More Baby Kael Pictures

Here is another picture of baby Kael, on the back porch of my parent's house. Like I said before he likes to sleep . . . . . a lot!

Renae holding baby Kael. . . .Okay that's enough my turn!

Available Lite - Damak Drives

A Couple of years ago my dad was walking one morning and saw this electric car at a garage sale. After some swift negotiation over the price, he purchased this car along with an electric four wheeler.
My sister's kids got a lot of use out of the two machines and now the only one left that works is the electric car. Notice the large battery jumper pack attached to the front of the car. This is called "Downing engineering". Nothing is truly broken in the Downing household until all possible electrical and mechanical engineering has been exhausted.

I think Damek really got a kick out of driving the car. It took him a little while to figure out exactly what he was doing. I mean he had never driven a car before in his life. Based on his quick understanding of the machine, I have a feeling that there is going to be more driving in the future.

Available Lite - The Real Youngest Nephew

I wasn't really thinking the other day when I posted the picture of Damek. I actually have three nephews and this is a picture of Kael who is actually the youngest. The oldest nephew’s name is Andrew, my sister's son, but I haven't had a chance to take a picture of him yet. Next is Damek and then Kael.

Baby Kael was born a little more than a week ago. He does a lot of sleeping. . . .I guess he is very tired.

Available Lite - The Best So Far

This is probably the best picture that I have taken with my phone. I'm still trying to find the best available light for taking pictures. There is a very fine line between too much light and too little. The lens is so small that you really have to have just the right settings. This picture was taken just south of the Capital on Congress Avenue.

Available Lite - The Big House

This is a picture of the State Capital in Austin, Texas. Amber and I went to see our friend's improv troupe downtown. We got there early and took a photo tour of some government buildings.

This is the Governor’s Mansion, also the former home of President Bush. Now he lives in a much larger white house.

Available Lite - Annie Loves Rides

Annie, "our dog", loves to go for a ride in the car. Notice that she is unaware that I am taking a photo of her. She loves to feel the wind through her hair as she sticks her head as far out the window as she can.

Available Lite - Nixon The Dog

When I was in college I decided that I was at that stage in my life where I needed a dog. My friends and I used to have a saying where if something was really messed up it was a "big Nixon". For a long time it was going to be a band name, but it fit perfectly for the dog's name. Nixon moved in with my parents long before I graduated from college. For some reason this was acceptable, but the invitation to move back home for an extended period of time has never been extended to me even though we attended the same university. His main goal in life is to monitor all squirrel activity in the general vicinity of my parent’s house. This activity has caused him to have reconstructive ACL surgery from trying to climb too many trees. . . . Seriously.

Available Lite - The Youngest Nephew

My youngest Sister in Law, Nicole, has two sons. This is a picture of her oldest son, Damek. He's a great kid who loves to play interactive flash based Elmo games on the laptop when he comes to visit his Aunt and Uncle.
